FOOT HUNTING/FOOT TRIALING

Shady Meadows Gundogs Puppy Program
Here is the page that is the true reason why I go through so much work and heartache (caused by people, not the dogs) to run such a large operation. These little pointer pups are an absolute joy to play with and watch develop. The lines that we work with (Crow's Little Joe and Honky Tonk Attitude) are well known all over the country to produce some of the finest "true bird dogs" in the country. NO OTHER genetics can compare to their nose and uncanny bird finding abilities. EVERY SINGLE ONE of our Crow's Little Joe females can point a bird from over 40 yards and one can hit them hard at 60 yards. Most genetics simply can not do that. It's that simple. That makes it real easy to produce birds where others can't. It's no big secret when they can smell a bird a half a football field away.
On this page you will see some of the finest breedings in the entire country for foot hunting pointers and NSTRA trial venues. We have spent a small fortune and years of working with these lines to settle on them for our own stock. They are the most natural lines out there, period. They require very little training compared to other lines and you can generally have a pretty darn fine little bird dog by a year to a year and a half old. If developed properly, they almost all will point, back and retrieve naturally. It's heart warming to watch a 5 - 6 month old pup throw down it's first back with perfection. You just can't beat it. I hope you enjoy your new pup as much as we do. We are looking forward to hearing from you in the future and please share pictures with us as your pup progresses. I save them all as they come in and some day I will get around to building a reference page with pictures of your pups/dogs on it and your testimonals. Until then, enjoy the best that there is. Anybody that hunts this line of dogs will tell you the same thing. Until someone develops a better line, the Crow's Little Joe/Honky Tonk Attitude cross is the best there is for foot hunting. That is, assuming your goal is to find birds and not just watch a dog run.
